What Are Silk Amino Acids?
Silk amino acids are the smallest units of protein derived from silk. They consist of individual amino acids obtained by hydrolyzing silk proteins, making them highly effective in penetrating hair and skin.
Why They Are Amazing for Your Hair?
-
Intense Hydration: Silk amino acids help retain moisture in your hair, preventing dryness and frizz.
-
Strength and Elasticity: They fortify hair strands, enhancing elasticity and reducing breakage.
-
Smooth and Shine: These amino acids fill in gaps on the hair cuticle, creating a silky, glossy finish.
-
Deep Repair: Due to their small size, they penetrate deeply into the hair, repairing damage from within.
-
Protection: They shield hair from environmental stressors and heat styling, keeping it healthy and resilient.
Incorporating silk amino acids into your haircare routine can result in deeply hydrated, strong, and shiny hair that looks and feels healthier.

"A Hydrosol is a plant medicine comprised of the "spirit" of a plant, also sometimes called aromatic or floral water. The alchemical process used to produce hydrosol is called steam/hydro distillation, utilizing a hand-pounded copper alembic still. The art of steam distillation dates back to 500 BC, when Persian alchemists created copper stills to distill beloved rose water, as well as other fine balms and perfumes. Copper has been prized as an optimum metal in the Alchemical tradition, due to its natural antimicrobial properties and incredible rate of heat conduction."
*Slow’s hydrosols are crafted in our small home-based apothecary through traditional copper steam and/or hydro distillation. Our hydrosols have a 12-month expiration date; however, this can be extended by storing your hydrosol in the fridge. This may change the scent profile slightly and we recommend storing in a cool, dark area away from direct sunlight for the first 12 months and then storing in the fridge for up to an additional 6-12 months. Exposure to air, light and heat will increase oxidation in plant waters and may change the PH, making them unsuitable for your skin. Please store properly to optimal efficacy and potency!
